Yewlands Academy powers digital learning with WiFi 7
Yewlands Academy has future proofed its network with high-performance WiFi 7 that's delivering a faster, more resilient wireless experience to students and staff.
The school has over nine hundred students and a BYOD model in place so robust wireless connectivity is essential. The IT department wanted to move away from on-premises WiFi and to a cloud-managed environment that would provide robust wireless connectivity and could be managed easily from a single cloud dashboard.
The school turned to Redway Networks who recommended a Cisco Meraki WiFi 7 solution to handle the school's high-density environment with centralised cloud-management from anywhere.
Reliable WiFi Supports the School's BYOD Model
Yewlands Academy is a large, mixed secondary that prides itself on delivering a broad digital curriculum to its students.
Adam Kubica, Senior IT Officer at Yewlands Academy says:
"We have over 900 hundred students and a BYOD model in place with devices connecting simmutaneously, so the WiFi needs to be capable of supporting this environment without limitations.
"Our on-premises Cisco network needed replacing as wireless connectivity in the classrooms was unrelliable. We also wanted our WiFi to be cloud-managed instead of on-premises so we could manage the network from a single cloud dashboard."
Spot on WiFi Designs Deliver Reliable WiFi
As the school's existing WiFi was Cisco, it wanted to make the most of Meraki's hardware and cloud management tools.
Adam says: "Before the design and installation of Meraki, Redway Networks conducted a comprehensive WiFi survey and network audit that reviewed our complete network layout."
"The Wireless designs were spot on and Redway's engineers went above and beyond to support us and made the whole project easy."
