Uckfield Town Council Improves Digital Service for Staff, Residents & Visitors

Unified networks are far easier to scale, secure, and manage - and this was a barrier to delivering a superior digital experience for Uckfield Town Council. The organisation had 2 networks, a wired one for service, and an additional WiFi network, requiring them to use repeaters, causing constant issues with coverage, interference and downtime.

Network security was also a concern due to the large events hosted at their facilities, as well as the sudden surge in remote working during the pandemic. The Council decided to ensure an optimal digital experience across its facilities and services - via a future-ready network.

Uckfield Town Council Plans for the Future

Uckfield Council wanted to provide a better digital experience for visitors, but also to increase the agility of its workforce by enabling staff to login to services from anywhere securely. This focus on security also applied to events where hundreds of visitors could be on-site at a time, requiring robust defences to protect highly confidential information.

Increases in Visitors, Business and Agility from Next Gen WiFi

1

Visitors to Uckfield Council's facilities are staying longer, thanks to an improved digital experience.

2

Training and conferencing facilities are benefitting from the improved WiFi performance, which has driven an uplift in bookings.

3

Business at the centre's restaurant has correspondingly increased too, creating a welcoming, convivial environment where people meet.

4

Time spent on network management has hugely reduced due to the IT team's ability to manage the network remotely, through a single pane of glass.

5

Remote working for the Council's staff is now secure and seamless - a benefit that hugely helped during the pandemic's enformed working from home policy.

6

The council now has the scalability to consider future projects, such as the installation of town-wide CCTV, which would have further depleted network performance and manageability before.
