What happens during a wiFi survey?
A WiFi site survey will tell us where the best access points are for your WiFi installation to improve performance. The primary purpose is to ensure you have reliable, consistent WiFi coverage everywhere it’s needed so your team has the connections they need at all times. There are typically three types of WiFi survey that we’ll carry out:
Simulation
Quick, convenient and affordable, predictive surveys use your own insight as well as a simulated version of your existing Wi-Fi
On-Site
Collecting live data will give us a full understanding of your real-life network performance. On-site we are able to factor in interference that can affect end-performance.
Validation
irons out any issues and ensures optimum configuration. These surveys can be done remotely.

How long does a Wifi site survey take?
Most surveys can be completed in a single day, but the timeline may vary depending on the complexity and size of your site.
What do I need to prepare?
You’ll need to provide floor plans and access to all areas of your business or school site. If we’re conducting an active survey, we’ll also need access to your Wifi network. You’ll also need to provide advance warning of any PPE or certifications needed.
Who will conduct the survey?
A qualified, experienced Redway Networks engineer will carry out the survey. Our engineers hold certifications like Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer - Design, Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP), Cisco Certified Network Professionals (CCNP) and also other Vendor certifications.
When will I receive the results?
We typically deliver the survey results and recommendations within a few days after the site visit.
Will my organisation experience downtime during the survey?
No, we conduct surveys without any disruption to your organisation's operations.
