The new Wi-Fi 6 solution has delivered:
-
Stock high in lead required an interference management strategy to be able to design a high-performance network off-plan
-
The network is successfully supporting the blend of staff and robotics, resulting in enhanced productivity and efficiency
-
Wi-Fi 6 offers the scalability for high levels of IoT and emerging technologies which Yuasa will deploy in the coming years
Our solution is ensuring the warehouse is running super efficiently considering what the Wi-Fi is up against with our robotic fleet and handhelds operating without interruption. The technical ability of the team to design the wireless network just from plans with simulated data and then for the Wi-Fi to be spot on with continuous signal was impressive.

The Challenge
GS Yuasa’s new warehouse was designed with their automation plans in mind, so enterprise wireless networking was essential as the backbone for robotics and automated technologies. The environment, however, posed significant challenges for connectivity because of the high levels of lead in the batteries. This unique issue is compounded by the commonplace challenges that warehouses face with connectivity such as racking. The warehouse also has a complex mix of different areas, deep tunnels and open spaces which all required a different implementation approach when it came to wireless. These issues made for a challenging project which had to be designed off-plan as part of the construction process.
