Pupils Benefit From A Free Wireless Solution After School Wins Big 2017 With Redway Networks & Aerohive

Pupils at Waddesdon Church of England School in Aylesbury are celebrating after winning a wireless solution that will enhance their learning and development.  The secondary school was successful in a competition run by Wireless Specialists, Redway Networks Ltd, based in Milton Keynes.

As demand for internet bandwidth within schools increasingly continues to be put under pressure, the Redway Networks Win Big 2017 Competition sets out to help pupils and staff who depend on using mobile devices in the classroom for more intuitive learning experiences by offering a free business-standard education WiFi upgrade to one successful educational establishment.

Following Waddesdon Church of England School’s win, their outdated WiFi Network has been completely overhauled.  Its campus has been kitted out with the very latest enterprise-grade WiFi networking equipment, comprising of an Aerohive HiveManager NG and AP122s connect dual radio access points, giving high-density WiFi performance.

Leigh Hayes, Director of Redway Networks Ltd said: “We are committed to providing support to the Educational Sector, enabling them to benefit from our provision of leading-edge technologies.  I am excited about the future for the pupils and staff at Waddesdon Church of England School who have immediately benefited from our solution”.

This is the second year running of Redway Networks Win Big competition which was open to schools throughout the UK to enter through Redway Network’s website, with the winner selected at random after a four-month nominations period.

The competition was supported by Aerohive Networks, whose equipment was installed in the winning school.

The school’s ICT Systems and Network Manager, Duncan Purchase, said: “”Waddesdon CE School was already looking at replacing a very old and outdated wireless system. We found ourselves caught between an old controller that could not operate with new equipment, and failing equipment that could not be replaced or repaired. We were absolutely delighted to have won the Win Big competition by Redway Networks and Aerohive Networks. The wireless network that Redway Networks installed is already proving to be an enhancement on our previous infrastructure with faster speeds and greater coverage. The installation and configuration were first class.”
